I'm a sucker for seersucker

Popular among old Southern gentlemen and members of the U.S. Senate, seersucker seems to be the quintessential summer wear for anyone over thirty-five.
Sure, seersucker has a reputation for being the suit material of old folks sipping mint juleps at the Kentucky Derby, but it's being reclaimed by my generation as a cool and comfortable summer alternative to linen or cotton. One of my current favorite outfits is a seersucker jacket, fashionably wrinkled, comfortably cool and perfectly paired with dark skinny jeans and my Marlins by Bluefin. I can take this look to work, out on the town or visiting my grandparents. I love it.
If you're into seersucker, or looking to get into it, try a dress, button down or pair of pants. Pure white or vertical stripes would be the most summery and flattering. I've got a pair of shorts I'm still dying to wear out - I may just mix things up and complement them with a denim jacket.
Seersucker gets its name from the Persian words for "milk and sugar," and it's hard to imagine a more appropriate phrase for the sugary white and pale blue look the fabric pulls off. Consider me a sucker for seersucker.
