Let's call it Olympic Fever

I pulled a muscle. I'd say the hamstring, but then again that would make it sound like I knew what I'm talking about. All I do know is that I was out running with my husband - just a casual jog, we were thinking - and before I know it, a competitive streak kicks in and I decide to give the uphill part of the trail a good sprint. Then, snap, it's like the back of my thigh decided it wanted to explode with every step I took.
Discomfort aside, I don't mind sitting around on my butt all day watching TV and having the boys replace the bags of ice as they melt, but I'm more than a little miffed about not getting to use my new shoes for however long. They're a great pair of Equation 6 by Asics, and jogging in them was like walking on water - or that's what I'd imagine.
So what got into me? Perhaps I'll never know, but for now I'll just call it Olympic Fever. My husband's getting a big kick out of the whole thing - when he's not fussing over me being on my feet with a pulled muscle - and saying that it's my just deserts for trying to pull ahead. I say, just wait 'til I'm recovered.
