The bag matches the blouse

It's probably easy enough for most folks, but I seem to have color blinders on when I grab my bag to leave the house. While I consider my hue and tonal sensitivities to be as good as the next lady's (color receptors are carried on the X chromosome after all), I rarely think about my purse the way I think about my clothes.
So it is that I'll be out the door in a perfectly arranged light blue and navy combo and grab my red-orange tote, because I've got a book with me that day. Or I'll be going to work in a matching blue blouse and white skirt only to grab my red handbag - the result being that I look like an American flag four weeks after Independence Day.
But not yesterday! Be it serendipity or my unconscious just feeling fed up with mismatched colors, I walked out the door in a light gray shirt, black skirt and carrying a charcoal purse. I could have leapt for joy when I realized it - but since I noticed publicly, as usual, when I caught sight of myself in the corner bank's windows, it's probably best that I didn't.
